About the Nursery School

Founded in 1931 as one of the first college-supported nursery schools in the U.S., the Elisabeth Amen Nursery School at Wheaton College has long been committed to quality preschool education. Each child’s growth and development are guided and nurtured by experienced early childhood educators passionate about learning through play. Our educators understand young children’s cognitive, social-emotional, and physical needs and offer students ample opportunities to experiment, discover and grow with joyful curiosity and confidence.

Our school offers half- and full-day programs for students ages three and up to prepare children for the transition to kindergarten—and for a lifetime of learning. We have select openings in our half-day PM and full-day programs for children 3 years and nine months to 5 years of age. We also offer extended day options.
