At 6pm on Wednesday, April 26th, alumna Diane Quinn Kennedy ('86) will be speaking in the Holman Room (on the second floor of Mary Lyon) on politics, the importance of local government, and the many ways in which Wheaton students can get involved in their communities without being a political science major.

    A little more about Diane:
Diane Kennedy graduated from Wheaton College (in the great class of 1986) with a concentration in History and Music. At Wheaton, she served on dorm staff and was the music director for the Whims for which she arranged music. Since graduation, she has worked in non-profit management in the visual and performing fields. Diane was a recipient of a competitive arts management fellowship with the National Endowment for the Arts. In 2011 she was elected to the Board of Selectman in Cohasset, MA and is currently running unopposed for her third term. She was elected to a second term in a hotly contested election with over 63% of the votes. In January of this year, she was elected to the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Agency (MIIA) Board of Directors which oversees an insurance pool of municipal workers throughout Mass and a budget of over $500 million. Diane is an enthusiastic policy-wonk and a champion of community service and serving in local government.
