Monday, January 23, 2023 – Tuesday, January 24, 2023

Welcome to the Wheaton Community!  Winter Orientation 2023, for new students admitted for the Spring Term, is a comprehensive program available to both new first year and new transfer students.  The program is designed to prepare you for your first days at Wheaton and introduce you to some of the people that will support you along the way.

Registration is not required as all enrolled new students are expected to attend.

Campus Arrival

The Office of Residential Life has communicated with all students via email to outline the check-in and arrival process.  All students must have an arrival appointment to move-in and participate in the Orientation programs.  Those appointments are available to be scheduled through the housing portal. Check-in appointments are available for Monday, January 23, Tuesday, January 24, and Wednesday, January 25th. All hours are between 10am and 4pm.

When students arrive on campus, they should go directly to the Balfour-Hood Center to check-in. There will be a designated check-in table for first year and transfer students – look out for the banner and staff working the table. Parking will be available in Lot #4.  Please contact reslife@wheatoncollege.edu with any specific questions about move-in.

Orientation Schedule

The first scheduled program will be in the late afternoon and evening of Monday, January 23, 2023.  The program schedule can be found on the winter orientation schedule tab, new students should plan for dinner on the evening of Monday, January 23, 2023 and from 8:30AM-3PM on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.  Please contact orientation@wheatoncollege.edu with any questions.

COVID-19

COVID-19 continues to be a part of our lives.  Please be sure you are up to date on current policies on the COVID-19 Protocols outlined on the College’s website.  This continues to be a dynamic situation so it is incumbent upon you to be vigilant and attentive to changing safety measures.  Dr. Parker had communicated with all students earlier this month that students are strongly encouraged to test for COVID-19 approximately 12-24 hours prior to returning to campus.

Families and Friends

We consider our new student family and friends are part of the Wheaton community too and want to share resources with you. While orientation is for your student we encourage you to review the pre-recorded videos on the Summer Orientation 2022 page with our asynchronous content.
