GATRA – Bus

Route 140 Mansfield
The GATRA Route 140 schedule is a campus favorite. Board the bus at Wheaton’s Slype and travel to the Great Woods Marketplace which contains shops such as:
- Mansfield Crossing
- Dollar Tree
- Dunkin’ Donuts
- Great Woods Mandarin
Continue the route through the town of Norton and Mansfield – ask to be dropped off anywhere! Alberto’s, Subway, Emma’s and Xfinity Center are some hot spots. Finish the route at downtown Mansfield where you can find various shops, restaurants, and the train station.
Route 18 Attleboro-Norton-Taunton
Get picked up in front of the Norton Post Office and travel outbound to the Attleboro Bus Shelter to explore the area where you will find the following:

You can also transfer to Route 12: Attleboro/South Attleboro where you can go to Emerald Square Mall and Wal-Mart.

MBTA – Train
Wheaton is conveniently located between Boston and Providence, providing a myriad of opportunities and experiences. The quickest way to travel is by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) train. Click here to learn how to travel by train.
While Boston is the birthplace of American liberty, it is also the birthplace of American mass transportation. The “T”, as it immediately came to be known in 1964, was one of the first combined regional transportation planning and operating agencies to be established in the United States. In terms of daily ridership, the MBTA remains the nation’s 5th largest mass transit system.
The closest station to Wheaton College is the Mansfield train station which is easily accessible through the GATRA Route 140 bus route.
The Mansfield Train Station carries the Providence/Stoughton Line which includes stops to Boston (South Station), Back Bay, Ruggles, Attleboro, and Providence.

Flying to/from Wheaton
There are two airports near Wheaton and both provide convenient, eco-friendly options to reaching/leaving Wheaton.
When flying is a must, there are two airports to choose from, and each has three convenient options for traveling to and from Wheaton.
T.F. Green Airport in Providence, RI
Traveling To Wheaton
- After arriving at the airport, take the Commuter Rail’s “Providence/Stoughton Line” (inbound) to the Mansfield stop. Take the GATRA Route 140 or a taxi to campus.
- Before arriving, reserve a direct taxi to campus at least 24 hours prior.
Departing From Wheaton
- Ride the GATRA Route 140 or take a taxi to the Mansfield train station. Ride the Commuter Rail’s “Providence/Stoughton Line” (outbound) to the T.F. Green airport.
- Reserve a direct taxi ride to the airport at least 24 hours prior.
Logan International Airport in Boston, MA
Traveling To Wheaton
- Upon arriving at the airport, take the Silver Line #1 to South Station. From South Station, take the Commuter Rail’s “Providence/Stoughton Line” (outbound) to the Mansfield stop. Take the GATRA Route 140 or a taxi to campus.
- Upon arriving at the airport, take the Braintree Logan Express. Take a taxi to campus (call in advance).
- Prior to arriving, reserve a direct taxi to campus at least 24 hours prior.
Departing From Wheaton
- Ride the GATRA Route 140 or take a taxi to Mansfield train station. Ride the Commuter Rail’s “Providence/Stoughton Line” (inbound) to South Station. Then board the Silver Line #1 to the airport.
- Reserve a taxi ride to the Braintree Logan Express.
- Reserve a direct taxi ride to the airport at least 24 hours prior.
