There are many ways to transition back into your life at Wheaton. You might have new interests and are looking for ways to utilize new skills. Here are a few ways to get involved and to integrate your study abroad experience into your life back home.

Going Global

Now that you’ve been abroad, are you looking for ways to go back? Going Global has country-specific career and employment resources for more than 80 locations. It is an amazing resource with information on living and working in different countries, links to job sites specific to each country, and more! Check it out here!

Welcome Back Events

The Center for Global Education will be offering events for you to gather with fellow study abroad returnees. Keep an eye out for invitations to the Welcome Back Dinner, which will be held in your first few weeks back on campus.

Center for Global Education Peer Advisor

Becoming a Global Peer Advisor is a great way to utilize your skills from your study abroad experience. Peer Advisors are volunteers that assist with one-on-one advising, pre-departure orientations, and marketing study abroad programs to the Wheaton community. Contact the Center for Global Education at x4950 or email [email protected] for more information or check out the Peer Advisor page on our website.

Lessons from Abroad Returnee Conference

Each spring, the Boston area colleges coordinate a Study Abroad Returnee Conference for area study abroad returnees. The conference is a chance to meet other students and learn about future study/travel/volunteer/work abroad opportunities. Support for attending (registration fees, transportation) may be available through the Center for Global Education, so contact us for more information.

Eye on the World Photo Exhibit & Contest

Each year, the Center for Global Education hosts an international photo contest. Students are encouraged to enter photos that have been taken around the globe. Prizes are awarded in five categories: Architecture, Cultural Perspectives, Landscape, Portrait, and Wildlife.
