A new way forward
Compass, approved by faculty members in spring 2019, officially launched this academic year with the Class of 2024. The new curriculum reimagines Wheaton’s general education requirements with opportunities that challenge and support students in designing their own educational paths and builds on Wheaton’s core principles.
Wheaton students remained busy during their winter break. They were able to secure internships in a number of fields, gaining key experiential learning opportunities to help enhance their academic pursuits and build the foundation for their career goals.
Wheaton commitment to first-gen success recognized
Wheaton College has been selected as a First-gen Forward institution, a national honor that recognizes its commitment to the success of first-generation college students. Shaya Gregory Poku, dean for equity, social justice and community impact at Wheaton, said the designation speaks to institutional values and reinforces the college’s dedication to diversity and inclusion.
