Graduating seniors from the Department of Theatre and Dance Studies invite you to join them for their final performance as Wheaton students. The show is a devised theatre project that springs from the various areas of interest this group has cultivated. From musical theatre to storytelling to physical movement and dance, the group leads the audience through a mash-up of style and performance.

Actor-director André Nerman brings the memoir of the author of The Little Prince to life on the Weber stage. Two men in a small plane, surrounded by a sea of clouds, begin to talk. They know that, from a higher perspective, the walls between peoples and cultures disappear… Please note: This program will be presented in French. Are you interested in jazz, ballet, and modern dance? Audition for the Wheaton College Dance Company. There will be a warmup with our modern teacher then you will be taught a combination. The Department of Theatre and Dance, along with the Music Department, invites all singers, actors, dancers, and storytellers to audition for its mainstage performance of Once on This Island. The auditions are open to the entire Wheaton community including students, staff, and faculty. Any student participating will receive .5 course credits. There will be two audition sessions, and you must attend both.

Dance Fest 2019 is a celebration of the 10 year anniversary for student-led dance groups Tap Out Loud (TOL) and Paraíso Latino (PL). Performing pieces choreographed by current members, TOL and PL are excited to bring their respective styles of tap and Latin dance to the stage, with a bit of extra sparkle thrown in. Guest artists Lymin’ Lyons and S.O.L.E. will also take part in the celebration. Tickets: $5 general, $3 students. For information and reservations, contact the Watson Box Office.

Auditions for this fall’s main stage production Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare are open to all Wheaton students. If interested, please select a time slot on the sign-up sheet  on the department callboard outside Watson 127.  Plan to arrive at least five minutes ahead of your audition time in order to complete necessary paperwork.
There will be at least 15 roles available to actors in this production, and gender-bending will be employed in casting as much as possible. Auditionees will be asked to read from the script. It is highly recommended that you acquaint yourselves with the play beforehand.  Please arrive prepared.

Film & New Media Studies major Michael Kristy premieres his first feature length film, Paint the Eyes First. The film follows James, a 20 year old homeless addict searching for a place to stay for the winter. During his journey he is chased and tormented by his drug dealer, but finds friendship and shelter with a janitor and his wife. The film, which represents Wheaton’s first ever feature film stars Kristy with Aileen Archambault, Brendan Geiger and Michael Sadowsky. The production team included more than 15 Wheaton students, 7 Wheaton faculty and 10 other crew members from around the world. Through this project, writer and director, Kristy, attempts to show opioid addicts in a different light, not as troupes but as people facing a challenge which they are trying to overcome.
