The Library will host a panel discussion with student activist Óscar Rubén Cornejo Cásares of Northwestern University, film director Sawyer Broadley, and Wheaton librarian Kate Henke, who will discuss their experiences with this work. The X Series (xperimental/xperiential/xpression) celebrates Wheaton’s creativity in a multidisciplinary virtual event composed of ‘acts’ created by our community. Spanning dance, song, and film to visual art and theatrical performance, each project responds to the prompt: 2020 and Beyond: Our Reflections. Our Responses. Over the course of this two-night live premiere, we gather to share our creative processes and to present the culmination of that work. Via Zoom, registration required.

The phrase Lakou Sanblé connotes a gathering among friends and neighbors. During this live concert the band Eïa!: Christophe Césaire (composer, keyboard, guitar), Christel Coïta (singer), Carole Rosine (piano), and Jacques Bajal (bèlè drum) with special guest Mano Césaire (founder of Malavoi, violin) will perform traditional songs from Martinique, Guaudeloupe and French Guyane.

This workshop will introduce participants to the neuroscience based principles of Universal Design for Learning, how these principles are applied, and why it should matter to us and our students.
