Retirement Gala Concert Honoring Guy Urban

Professor of Music Guy Urban performs a gala recital celebrating his retirement after 36 years on the Wheaton faculty. The program will consist entirely of music by the great composer Franz Schubert, and will include ensemble performances with Music Department colleagues including Ann Sears, Lisa Romanul, Sheila Falls, Zarina Irkaeva and Joseph Bentley. The concert will culminate in a performance of Schubert’s song “The Trout” by Wheaton vocalist Shiqiu Yang ’18, and a grand finale of his famous “Trout” Quintet.

Sitting Meditation with the Chaplain, Jordan Miller

Dr. Miller leads a Zen-style sitting meditation that lasts about 20 minutes and emphasizes the settling of your mind. Come and practice suspending all judgmental thinking and let words, ideas, images, and thoughts pass by without getting involved in them.
