Retirement Gala Concert Honoring Guy Urban

Professor of Music Guy Urban performs a gala recital celebrating his retirement after 36 years on the Wheaton faculty. The program will consist entirely of music by the great composer Franz Schubert, and will include ensemble performances with Music Department colleagues including Ann Sears, Lisa Romanul, Sheila Falls, Zarina Irkaeva and Joseph Bentley. The concert will culminate in a performance of Schubert’s song “The Trout” by Wheaton vocalist Shiqiu Yang ’18, and a grand finale of his famous “Trout” Quintet.

Please join us for the opening reception celebrating two exciting new exhibitions in the Beard & Weil Galleries. Props & Fine Art from Movies, Television & Theatre and Working Objects: Props by Ross MacDonald will be on display through April 13, 2018. Haas Visiting Artist Ross MacDonald will give an artist lecture at 5 p.m. in Ellison Lecture. The galleries are open Monday-Saturday 12:30-4:30 p.m., the galleries will be closed for spring break March 10-18.
