Development Studies
Broaden your cultural understanding and enrich your Wheaton education with a minor in developmental studies. This broad field looks at the evolution of societies through multiple lenses: economical, sociological, and political. Your core course explores the political economy in developing countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Then, you’ll choose from a variety of anthropology, economics, history, political science, and women and gender studies electives: sweatshops in the world economy, transnational feminism, urban anthropology, and the ecology and politics of food, just to name a few.
