Supporting home health
Prabha “Sumina” Regmi’s fascination with psychology, which she developed in her first course at Wheaton, and interests in science and healthcare led her to seek an internship this summer with Caring Heart Home Health Agency in Columbus, Ohio.
A public health and psychology major minoring in computer science, Regmi ’21 supported the work of aides, nurses and case managers as they provided home care to under-resourced patients in the Columbus area.
“What I’ve realized after working here for six weeks is that this field requires individualization. Working efficiently and caring about each patient personally is a skill that I began to develop with experience and a safe working environment full of diverse leaders,” Regmi said. “I hope to keep learning, growing and discovering new interests that come with working in the public health field.”
