Please join us for an opening reception celebrating our 2022 Senior Visual Art Majors’ Exhibition @capacity. Students will present bodies of work in a variety of mediums including: illustration, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. This group exhibition is mounted under the supervision of Assistant Professor of Photography Leah Dyjak.

Come check out what arts@wheaton is all about, including how you can get involved. There will be live performances, music, tie-dye, paper flower making, screen printing and more. Oh yeah, and food trucks! 

Time and the River’s Edge presents 25 years of Patty Stone’s creative work and celebrates her teaching career at Wheaton. The exhibition, displayed on campus as well as virtually, includes paintings and prints spanning the mid-1990s through 2020. Stone’s work explores the tension between nature and the built environment through mapping, collage, and the fluidity and texture of her chosen mediums.

In this talk Patty will provide greater detail about this exhibition, her artwork and her career in general.

Inspired by her Appalachian family history and the tradition of quilting circles, Jenkins brings people together to sit, talk, and sew.

Faculty and staff are invited to join the arts staff for coffee and treats. Come pick up the spring 2020 arts brochure, learn about our exciting upcoming arts programming and, check out the current textile exhibition: a nerve is not a nerve but a bundle of fibers. Visiting artist Sarah E. Jenkins will be in the gallery leading an informal drop-in workshop entitled Sewing Conversations. The workshop is a contemporary take on quilting circles and aims to provide social engagement while creating art.
