Project timeline
Students will begin to see, and taste, the impact of the college’s plans to upgrade dining as soon as the start of the 2015 spring semester.
The renovation work on Wheaton’s dining facilities is slated to begin in December, at the end of the fall semester.
The Balfour-Hood Cafe will be renovated, and the new eco-friendly menu will be introduced, for the spring semester.
The extensive renovations planned for Chase will require a longer planning period as well as more construction time. As a result, the facility close during spring break (March 9–13).
To accommodate students while Chase is offline, the college will establish temporary dining and serving facilities as well as expand food options through the use of food trucks and other fun, pop-up dining choices.
When classes resume in September 2015, the college will introduce its new meal plan options.
During the following winter break, the renovation of Emerson will take place, completing the planned upgrades in time for the start of the spring 2016 semester.
