A positive direction

Students filled out sticky notes with ideas for the Filene Center for Academic Advising and Career Services for a chance to win raffled items.

MAP Day inspires students to reflect, plan, engage—and have a little fun

All parts of campus bustled with activity during Mentored Academic Pathway (MAP) Day, which took place on Wednesday, March 23. See the gallery below.

Classes were canceled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. so students could engage in a process of reflection, inquiry and planning through advising sessions and Compass curriculum workshops. Students explored and identified courses, majors, experiential opportunities and co-curricular activities that will help them personalize and optimize their Wheaton educational experience.

This semester’s MAP Day was particularly festive, as the warm weather and opportunities for giveaways, food truck snacks and plant clay pot painting drew large numbers of students to the Dimple and other outdoor locations.

Students also met with faculty at department-run socials and panels. Open houses took place at the Filene Center for Academic Advising and Career Services, the new business and management suite in the Diana Davis Spencer Discovery Center, and the Beard and Weil Galleries.
