Performed by the Aurea Ensemble. This event is intended for young listeners. Come enjoy the musical portrait of life on an island, the shifting ocean, majestic lighthouses, raging storms, and even dancing puffins. There will be coloring activities and refreshments in the chapel basement prior to the concert.
The Fall New Student Orientation (NSO) program is designed for both new First-Year and new Transfer students that will be attending Wheaton starting in the Fall semester.

Contemporary painter and mixed media artist Barbara Owen creates a site-specific installation featuring her work with cut paper. Owen, who works out of studios in Pawtucket, RI and Brooklyn, NY, studied sculpture and poetry, but has since focused on painting as her primary medium. This exhibition is on display through November 3. The galleries will be closed on September 3 in observance of Labor Day, and October 6-9 for fall break.
Marking the start of the new academic year, the theme for Opening Convocation 2018 is "Caring and Kindness Create Community." Associate Professor Stephanie Burlington Daniels will deliver the convocation address, entitled "Walk Into the Discomfort." The event will be live-streamed at https://livestream.com/wheatoncollege/openingconvocation2018. An all-campus barbecue will be held following the convocation, on the Dimple (weather permitting).
