We understand that oftentimes working with students with disabilities requires advance preparation and knowledge regarding the provision of accommodations in the classroom. With the number of students with documented disabilities growing nationwide, your classroom is a microcosm of the community at large and whether students disclose or not, there will be students with disabilities, hidden or otherwise, in your class.

Wheaton College is committed to ensuring equal access and reasonable accommodations to all eligible students with documented disabilities. It is not uncommon for students to request accommodations directly from faculty; however, you and the student are better served by referring them to Accessibility Services (accessibility@wheatoncollege.edu), who will work with you and the student in determining reasonable accommodations.

Staff, faculty and students who are planning an event should refer to the Campus Events publication on Planning An Accessible Event Guide.
