Temporary Accommodations

Accessibility Services will work with students experiencing a temporary medical condition (such as broken limbs, concussion symptoms, or short-term healing associated with surgery) which
limits the student’s ability to function in the classroom and/or physical environment.

Students who need to request temporary accommodations will need to reach out to Elizabeth
Schuster to set up an intake meeting. (link to email here) We will make every attempt to
coordinate the temporary accommodations in a timely manner. Please email your documentation
before your meeting.

Guidelines for what we need in documentation for a temporary condition are as follows:

    • A clear statement of the diagnosis or condition
    • Presenting symptoms or impacts resulting from the temporary condition
    • A prognosis of length of time accommodations may be needed
    • Signature and contact information made by a qualified professional practicing in the area
that is needed to make a diagnosis. This cannot be a family member of the student.
