French Studies
France is known for its strong literary, artistic, and philosophical influences—and its food and fashion. Studying the French-speaking world—its language, its cultures, its histories—is not only intellectually fulfilling, but it also builds cultural competence. Wheaton’s French Studies majors study and write about cultural artifacts: film, literature, music. Beyond developing global awareness, learning to read, research, or write in a second language enriches graduate school and careers in business, education, law, medicine, politics, communications, and other fields.
