Technology Needs
Wheaton recommends Apple and Dell PC laptops as they perform best within the college’s network. You are not restricted to these brands. However, your computer must meet the minimum standards to be compatible. Through our arrangements with outside vendors, you may be eligible for a student discount on certain technology. While you’re responsible for providing your own laptop, Wheaton provides all students with complimentary Microsoft Office and anti-virus software. For more technology information, visit our Technology Services Overview page.
Parking on Campus
New students—first-year and transfer students—are allowed to have a vehicle on campus. However, you must fill out a car registration application on InsideWheaton.
Visit our Car Registration page for instructions on how to access the application. Permits are issued on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to register as early as possible.
Dining Options
New students are automatically enrolled in the carte blanche (all-you-care-to-eat) meal plan. This plan includes unlimited dining at Chase Commons and Lyons Bucks that can be used to purchase items at the 1834 Grill, Starbucks and at our Lyon Bites vending machines located in Emerson, Balfour-Hood Campus Center, and the Diana Davis Spencer Discovery Center.
Vegan, vegetarian and allergen-free options are available daily. Staff are also very helpful in supporting specific dietary needs. View our Dining Services page for more information about meal plan options, our mobile dining app and how to connect with Dining Services staff.
