Teach-in: global warming
Wheaton will be one of more than 1,200 institutions nationwide participating this month in Focus the Nation: Global Warming Solutions for America, which is being billed as the biggest teach-in in history. (Read more.)

'Cabinets of Curiosity'
Two Wheaton students have curated an intriguing campus exhibition based on the personal collections of faculty and staff members. (Read more.)

Spotlight on Latin American art
An exhibition of contemporary Latin American artists opens at Wheaton's Beard and Weil Galleries on February 4 and continues through April 10. Highlighting the acclaimed collection of Patricia Phelps de Cisneros '69, the show is the cornerstone of a multi-faceted collaboration among Wheaton students, faculty and staff and the Caracas-based Fundación Cisneros. Mellon Foundation funds Wheaton summer institute
A select group of 12 English majors from all over the nation will learn what it takes to do doctoral work in English through a four-week summer program at Wheaton, thanks to a $400,000 grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. (Read more.)

Anti-discrimination leader
Gov. Deval Patrick has appointed Sunila Thomas-George '91 as a commissioner of the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. An expert in employment discrimination, Thomas-George has been an attorney with the commission since 1997. (Read more.)
