Contemporary music ensemble, Phat Police present a program of music chosen and arranged by the students under the leadership of Assistant Professor of Music, Jeff Cashen.

The ensemble, under the direction of Jeff Cashen assistant professor of music, presents a mix of post-bop jazz, and features two student vocalists.

The Wheaton Chorale and Chamber Singers are joined by Donnell L. Patterson, one of Boston’s leading gospel choir directors, known for his great musicality and infectious enthusiasm. In addition to singing gospel music and spirituals with our visiting artist, the choirs will sing selections from African American composers including William Grant Still and Rosephanye Powell. Earl Raney, associate professor of music, leads the Southeastern Massachusetts Wind Symphony in its spring performance featuring works by Holst, Grainger, Bizet, Anderson, Sousa, and Williams. Suggested donation $5.

Comprised of two-time Grammy-winning clarinetist Richard Stoltzman and virtuoso marimba player Mika Stoltzman, Duo Cantando joins the GWSO in a concert of jazz-inspired music by American composers. Featuring compositions by Leonard Bernstein, Chick Corea, James P. Johnson, and Florence Price. The GWSO will also premiere a new piece by Wheaton senior Hannah Merseal. Suggested donation $5.

The Department of Theatre and Dance, along with the Music Department, invites all singers, actors, dancers, and storytellers to audition for its mainstage performance of Once on This Island. The auditions are open to the entire Wheaton community including students, staff, and faculty. Any student participating will receive .5 course credits. There will be two audition sessions, and you must attend both.
