The X Series (xperimental/xperiential/xpression) celebrates Wheaton’s creativity in a multidisciplinary virtual event composed of ‘acts’ created by our community. Spanning dance, song, and film to visual art and theatrical performance, each project responds to the prompt: 2020 and Beyond: Our Reflections. Our Responses. The Counseling Center is once again excited to sponsor Spring Into Wellness the week of March 8-12, 2021. Spring Into Wellness is a week full of co-sponsored (virtual and in-person) events surrounding your physical, mental, and emotional health. This week culminates with a campus-wide scavenger hunt.

Interested in getting involved in the performing arts? Faculty, staff and students from the music, theatre and dance programs will be available to answer questions about academic and co-curricular opportunities.

As we enter the next decade, student-led dance groups Paraíso Latino (PL) and Tap Out Loud (TOL) are looking back at dance and music styles that inspire the performing arts we know and love today. Performing works choreographed by current members, the groups are excited to showcase their selective styles of Latin and tap on the big stage. Guest artists Lymin’ Lyons and S.O.L.E. will also take part in the celebration. Tickets: $5 general, $3 students.

Gala 2020 uses dance to take audiences on a journey from past to future. Join Trybe in their 21st year for an evening of fun, learning, celebrating and dancing. Gala will include guest appearances by S.O.L.E. and Wheaton’s Dance Company. Tickets: $5 general, $3 students, may be purchased online via the Watson Box Office.

Come check out what arts@wheaton is all about, including how you can get involved. There will be live performances, music, tie-dye, airbrush tattoos, screen printing and more. Oh yeah, and a food truck serving up tacos. Come play with us!

The ensemble performs under the direction of Artistic Director Andrea Taylor-Blenis. Tickets: $10 general, $5 faculty/staff & seniors, $2 students. Tickets may be purchased online through the Box Office.

Are you interested in jazz, ballet, and modern dance? Audition for the Wheaton College Dance Company. There will be a warmup with our modern teacher then you will be taught a combination. Please wear clothes that you are able to dance in.

Come out and meet the faculty and staff of the Department of Theatre and Dance Studies and hear what’s planned for the coming year. Information about auditions for both theatre and dance will be provided as well as information about classes and the major.
