Dr. Miriam Isaacs, lecture “Who Knows One? Songs of Holocaust Survivors from the Stonehill Collection.”
Dr. Miriam Isaacs, independent scholar, researcher and lecturer, on Yiddish language and culture, heritage languages, and translation; retired Affiliate Visiting Associate Professor of Yiddish Language and Culture, University of Maryland College Park, will speak on the Yiddish songs she worked on from the Benjamin Stonehill Oral History Collection when she was a Fellow at the United States Holocaust Holocaust Memorial Museum.

The Wheaton Chorale and Chamber Singers are joined by Donnell L. Patterson, one of Boston’s leading gospel choir directors, known for his great musicality and infectious enthusiasm. In addition to singing gospel music and spirituals with our visiting artist, the choirs will sing selections from African American composers including William Grant Still and Rosephanye Powell.
