Celebrate Beethoven’s 250th birthday with a recital of his first three violin and piano sonatas, Op. 12, with noted violinist Nicolas Kitchen, first violinist of the Borromeo String Quartet, and Professor of Music Ann Sears, piano.
***This event has been postponed*** Nicholas Kitchen, principal violinist of the Borromeo Sting Quartet, plays two of Beethoven's most beloved sonatas, the "Spring" and the tempestuous "Kreuzer". Professor of Music, Ann Sears accompanies Kitchen on piano.
Award winning composer, saxophonist, and flutist Anna Webber performs with her band Simple Trio (Matt Mitchell, piano; John Hollenbeck, drums) blending strands from contemporary concert music and free improvisation.
Nicholas Kitchen, internationally recognized violinist, founder of the Borromeo String Quartet, and faculty member of New England Conservatory, presents a concert with Professor of Music, Ann Sears, piano. This performance includes sonatas by Beethoven and Mozart, as well as works by Clarence Cameron White and Amy Beach.
Composer and pianist Anthony Cheung performs compositions and improvisations for two pianos, accompanied by pianist Cory Smythe. The program includes a premiere of a two-piano arrangement of Sibelius' 7th Symphony by Cheung.
Professor of Voice Linda Barbieri, soprano, will present a program of vocal works including songs about spring, folk song arrangements, musical theatre gems, and arias in the acoustically perfect Cole Memorial Chapel, accompanied by Professor Ann Sears, piano.
