“At the Fab Academy, you will learn how to envision, prototype and document your ideas through many hours of hands-on experience with digital fabrication tools.” Under the leadership of global instructor Neil Gershenfeld, Wheaton students will be exposed to  innovative communities and ideas at a global level over the course of six months. Gershenfeld, MIT Professor and Director of the Center for Bits + Atoms, originally taught “How to Make Almost Anything” as an MIT course which grew into FabAcademy in 2009. Students who successfully complete FabAcademy will graduate with an extensive digital portfolio detailing their progress and final project. They will also gain the knowledge needed to take an idea from prototype to product. Wheaton will be the first college in New England to offer FabAcademy to its students.
