The Wheaton Pride Scholarship provides financial support for students who positively impact the LGBTQ+ community through leadership or service. President Michaele Whelan personally funded the initial contribution to further the college’s mission to advance diversity, equity and inclusion in education.
Eligibility
- Newly admitted and current students who demonstrate financial need
- Proven service to and/or leadership in the LGBTQ+ community
- A commitment to the advancement of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging
- Students do not need to identify as LGBTQ+ to qualify
The Wheaton Pride Scholarship Award
Wheaton awards two need-based Pride Scholarships per year to students who are actively engaged in LGBTQ+ advocacy efforts. Scholarships will be $2,500 per student for the inaugural year.
Newly admitted and current students are encouraged to apply. Students are not required to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity on the application. All information submitted by applicants will remain confidential and will not be shared publicly without the student’s permission.
