The International Student Early Arrival Program is important because it will help you contextualize what you are about to learn and experience at Wheaton College. Over three days, topics such as Cultural Adjustment, Classroom Behavior and Expectations, Student Support Services and Immigration Regulations will be discussed to prepare you to succeed during the time you are here at Wheaton. This is also the chance and opportunity to get to know your future classmates and make friends in an intimate setting prior to everyone arriving on campus.

For reference, see the schedule for our 2024 Early Arrival program held prior to Fall orientation

Some of the highlights were:

  • Hot Topics – new students divide into smaller groups and discuss topics such as Race and Ethnicity, LGBTQ+ rights and terminology, Gender, Politics in the US and Immigration.
  • Memory making with Early Arrival Program Assistants – new students participate in conversations with current students while making totes, posters or some other activity that create togetherness.
  • Flash Sessions – these are designed to bring the larger campus to a smaller venue. Topics covered are health services, insurance, taxes and campus life!
  • Evening Events – each night students are able to get together with each other for movies and popcorn, a pajama party, snacks with arts & crafts or a welcome reception with the Davis International House.

To get ready to come to Wheaton, please read through the International Student Handbook.
