Premiering on Broadway in 1996, RENT garnered international acclaim and won several awards, including The Pulitzer Prize for Drama and The Tony Award for Best Musical, and is based loosely on Puccini’s La Boheme. The play follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York’s Lower East Side, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.

The Department of Theatre and Dance, along with the Music Department, invites all singers, actors, dancers, and storytellers to audition for its mainstage performance of Once on This Island. The auditions are open to the entire Wheaton community including students, staff, and faculty. Any student participating will receive .5 course credits. There will be two audition sessions, and you must attend both.
