The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program at Wheaton College is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education . The program also has initial approval status from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing. After successful completion of the program you’ll be prepared to sit for the NCLEX-RN—the national exam required for initial licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Massachusetts.
Practicing Outside Massachusetts
While a Massachusetts license allows you to apply for nursing positions in other states (licensure by endorsement), keep in mind that requirements vary. Some states require additional steps such as specific coursework, background checks, fingerprinting, or verification of clinical hours and education.
Before enrolling in Wheaton’s BSN Program, we strongly recommend you contact the Board of Nursing in the state or territory where you intend to practice to confirm licensure and certification requirements. The NC-SARA Professional Licensure Directory provides state licensure contact information and is updated twice annually.
