If you have been admitted to Wheaton College as an exchange student, please review and submit the required materials outlined below to [email protected]. All documents are required in order for the Center for Global of Education to issue your J-1 visa eligibility document (Form DS-2019).

Application and Housing Forms

Personal and Academic Records

  • Passport photo page: a clear copy of the page containing your photo, signature and personal details.
  • CV or resume: a 1–2 page summary of your education, academic projects, volunteer work, skills and any employment history (written in English).
  • Personal statement: outline your academic goals and your motivation for applying to the exchange program.
  • Official transcript: a copy of your academic transcript, in English.
  • Two recommendation letters: must be from academic references.

Financial Proof

Submit a bank statement or official school letter proving your ability to fund room, board, and miscellaneous fees (health insurance, student activity fee, books, etc.).

Note: While tuition is waived for exchange students, you must prove you can cover these remaining indirect and living expenses.

Language Proficiency

Proof of English Language Proficiency: Required by the U.S. Department of State.

This can be fulfilled by:

  • Original TOEFL, IELTS, or other official English language test scores.
  • An official certification letter (on institutional letterhead) from your home university confirming your language proficiency.

Medical Records

All health forms can be accessed and submitted via the PyraMed health portal. All forms must be completed in English with the assistance of a medical professional. A delay in submitting these medical records will result in a medical hold, preventing you from moving into housing or starting classes.

Immunizations

Immunization records are not required during the initial application process, but must be completed and uploaded to the portal by June 30, 2026.

Important notice: You should ideally complete all immunizations before arrival. Any missing vaccines can be obtained at the campus medical center during your first month.

Exchange Student Fees

As an exchange student, your tuition is fully waived under our exchange agreement. However, you will be responsible for covering your personal living expenses and institutional enrollment fees.

To assist with your financial planning, here is an estimated breakdown of costs for the 2026–2027 academic year. Please note that these figures are approximations; the final total may vary slightly once health insurance premiums are officially finalized later this year.

 Fees:
Type 1 semester 2 semesters
Room $4,900 $9,800
Meals $4,000 $8,000
Health Insurance and Fees $2,900 $5,500
Total $11,800 $23,600
