Oversees the division of Finance and Administration. Areas of responsibility include Business Services, Conference and Event Services, Finance Office, Finance Information Services, Human Resources, Campus Safety and Physical Plant.

Finance Office

The Finance Office includes payroll, financial forms and reports, endowment administration, budgeting, accounting and grant services, accounts payable, and related policies and procedures.

The mission of the Finance Office is to plan, budget, account for, report on and safeguard the financial resources of the college. The Finance Office works in a collaborative and inclusive manner to provide timely, accurate and meaningful information to support the enhancement of the college’s educational programs, student quality, external relations and its culture and values.

Accounting and Grant Services

The Accounting and Grant Services Office is responsible for maintaining the college’s official accounting records in accordance with internal policies, external laws and generally accepted accounting principles. Additional responsibilities include cash management, fixed asset accounting, debt accounting and compliance, coordination of the external audit, and preparation of the college’s financial statements, tax returns and other required federal and state reports.

The office also assists faculty and staff with the financial compliance aspects of grants.

Budget Office

The Budget Office manages the college’s operating and capital budgets and five-year integrated financial plan. The office supports the President’s Council, department managers, faculty chairs and student government offices on all aspects of the annual resource allocation process as well as budget development and administration of grants and other new programs.

The Budget Office provides department managers with tools and support for their regular budgetary tasks, including training on Banner and WebFocus so they can access and analyze budget information.

Endowment Administration

Endowment Administration is responsible for administering the college’s investments. These assets consist of endowment funds, life income and annuity funds, charitable trusts and gifts of securities. We operate in consideration of the college’s Investment Policy, federal and state regulations and donor restrictions.

We strive to:

  • provide accurate and timely accounting and reporting
  • provide support to the Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees
  • monitor and provide guidance on spending of endowment funds in compliance with donor intent
  • maintain permanent endowment fund files

Payroll and Accounts Payable

The Payroll and Accounts Payable department is responsible for the disbursement of all funds, whether it be to Wheaton College employees or to our vendors. We strive to ensure the timely processing of all time sheets and invoices and to provide quality customer service to both our Wheaton community and vendors.
