Gifted student performers demonstrate mastery in voice, violin, cello, piano and other instruments.
The students enrolled in Western Music I: Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque, perform musical works from the historical periods they have studied this semester, including compositions by Marin Marais, Henry Purcell, Couperin, Scarlatti, Handel, and Bach.

Professor of Music Guy Urban performs a gala recital celebrating his retirement after 36 years on the Wheaton faculty. The program will consist entirely of music by the great composer Franz Schubert, and will include ensemble performances with Music Department colleagues including Ann Sears, Lisa Romanul, Sheila Falls, Zarina Irkaeva and Joseph Bentley. The concert will culminate in a performance of Schubert’s song “The Trout” by Wheaton vocalist Shiqiu Yang ’18, and a grand finale of his famous “Trout” Quintet.
