As part of a course assignment for Art of the Avant-Gardes, 1900–1945, which was taught by Professor Ellen McBreen in spring 2011, Jesse O’Neil and Tu Nguyen, both Class of 2014, created a podcast that explored how the abstract figures and bright colors of the Surrealist Miró combine to create a sense of dynamic flight. Their podcast describes how viewers may potentially lose themselves amid the movement of the painting’s celestial landscape.
