Every employee and student is assigned an email address to which all official communication is sent. Our supported email management program is Thunderbird, and you can also access your email through your web browser

New Staff Orientation

Working with Human Resources, LIS Technology Support is responsible for addressing technology needs of new staff and faculty.

Once your technology needs have been established, Tech Support will schedule an in-person technology orientation session -- at which you will receive a printed copy of the technology orientation guide

Purchasing Hardware

Wheaton has arrangements with a variety of vendors that may get you discounts on technology.
These vendors include:

  • Apple (for Mac software and hardware)
  • Dell (for PC hardware)
  • Gov Connection (for miscellaneous parts and peripherals, e.g. external hard drives, memory sticks, etc.)

For help with software, the following is available:

  • Assistive technology is available in several spaces around campus
  • Media Services provides documentation for all of the classroom equipment as well as cameras, recorders, etc. that they loan to students for class projects. For more information on training or to borrow the equipment please email av@wheatonma.edu.

There are several regular technology series available on campus:

  • Training Classes
    A technology training series promoting skills on general-purpose productivity software such as email, Microsoft Office, and graphics software
  • Tech and Talks (TNT)
    A lunchtime opportunity to explore the role of technology in teaching and research
