Get first-hand accounts of the experience of refugees to the United States. We will be joined by three refugees who fled violence and danger in their home countries and are adapting to living in America.

We will have the immense privilege of receiving Mary Truong, the director of the Massachusetts  Office of Refugees and Immigrants, herself a refugee from Vietnam; a 19-year-old Somali; and a 30-year-old Iraqi.

The panelists will talk about their journey from their home countries to the U.S., their establishment in this country, and their hardships. They also will offer ideas on how we can be the best possible advocates for the refugee cause.

The event is sponsored by the Global Leadership Development Group, a student organization advised by President Dennis M. Hanno and Professors Gail Sahar and Aubrey Westfall. 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
