The Wheaton Fund is dedicated to preserving, maintaining and improving this special place our students call home: our campus buildings and grounds. All of this work is done with an eye toward sustainability.
At Wheaton, we strive to minimize our carbon footprint. For example, our own Mars Center for Science and Technology was awarded LEED Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Business Council for its environmentally friendly design. The building features a green roof, energy recovering air-handling units and extensive solar shading.
Wheaton operates a recycling program, which includes placing bins across campus to reduce our collective landfill waste. We maintain the grounds around WheaFarm, a student-run garden open to the Norton community, and the Murphy Apple Orchard.
The Wheaton Fund supports our well-maintained campus greenspace and landscaping, allowing our students to live and study in a beautiful environment that will leave a lasting impression.
