Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd G. and Mildred Balfour were the founders of the Balfour Co., maker of class rings and long-time friends of the College. The Balfour-Hood Center and the natatorium in the Haas Center is named in their memory. A large tract of woods adjoining the Southern end of the campus was the gift of the Balfours.
