The business program at Wheaton provides the core knowledge and skills needed for future leaders to thrive in the global marketplace. As a business major, you will have the opportunity to tailor your studies by choosing a concentration in areas such as international business and cross-cultural management; marketing, new media and media analytics; finance, accounting and business analytics; creative arts management; and healthcare management. You also will apply your business knowledge through a mixture of experiential learning and project-based opportunities, as well as through a required internship. Wheaton’s curriculum connects basic business disciplines to the liberal arts, providing you with a well-rounded perspective that is both valuable and crucial in today’s professionals. Major Concentrations

Creative Arts Management

The Creative Arts Management Concentration prepares you to participate in the creative economy, a major economic driver that supports a wide range of occupations. Learn about the business of arts through courses like “The Business of Music,” “Arts Administration,” “Introduction to Museum Studies,” and complement that knowledge with courses of your choice in art, anthropology, film and new media studies, philosophy, sociology and theater.

Finance, Accounting, and Business Analytics

The Finance, Accounting, and Business Analytics Concentration delivers foundational knowledge and skills in investment practices and managerial accounting—topics essential for any business professional. You can pursue coursework in accounting, organizational behavior, marketing and corporate responsibility, and enrich your perspective through interdisciplinary study in anthropology, economics and mathematics.

Healthcare Management

The Healthcare Management Concentration will help you apply your business knowledge to help healthcare organizations function effectively and deliver the best care possible to patients. Study topics like international business and human resources management and put your knowledge into context through exploring health topics through the lenses of anthropology, economics, philosophy, psychology and sociology

Human Resources Management and Diversity and Inclusion in Organizations

The Human Resource Management and Diversity and Inclusion in Organizations Concentration prepares you to optimize the talent pool and skills of a company or organization. Develop a firm understanding of how human resource management serves as a strategic partner in an organization’s success as well as cross cultural knowledge to function effectively in a variety of environments.

International Business and Cross Cultural Management

The International Business and Cross Cultural Management Concentration will help you hit the ground running in entering the field of international business, which is conducted across cultures, languages, traditions, and a range of economic, political and technological landscapes. Develop essential cross cultural skills, and broaden your perspective, through a variety of interdisciplinary courses in anthropology, economics, history, languages, political science and more.

Marketing, New Media and Media Analytics

The Marketing, New Media and Media Analytics Concentration offers a deep dive into digital marketing through a real-world business lens. You will examine emerging technology trends, consumer behavior, and marketing strategies and have the opportunity to pursue interdisciplinary coursework in photography, web design and development, animation, digital editing, film and many more.

Social Entrepreneurship, Non Profit Management and Philanthropy

The Social Entrepreneurship, Non-Profit Management and Philanthropy Concentration equips you with the skills and knowledge to build businesses that endeavor to advance social change. Explore examples of social entrepreneurship and innovation and test out your own idea in our Social Entrepreneurship Studio. Delve into topics including corporate responsibility, accounting, organizational behavior and marketing and pursue interdisciplinary courses in anthropology, economics, education, history, philosophy, political science and more.

Business and Management Minor

The business and management minor introduces students to core business courses in economics, fundamentals of business, management, and business analysis. Students also select two business elective courses that allow them to tailor the minor to their interests and career goals.

Major Concentrations
