Faculty Parental Leave Policy
The Faculty Handbook, pp. 35-37, spells out the policies concerning parental leave occasioned by the birth or adoption of children. The policies distinguish not between mother and father but between primary and secondary caregiver. Any faculty member applying for parental leave must declare primary or secondary status; the conditions of the leave are different in each case. The form here is complete and current as of November 2010. There is no separate declaration form. The completed form should be submitted to the Provost's Office for approval.
