Twisting nature into art
Posted on October 7, 2008
Visiting artist Patrick Dougherty's work with Wheaton students won attention from The Boston Globe, which visited campus just as the sculpture, Twisted Sisters, was completed. The Globe's writer was intrigued by the work itself, and talked with students who shared his wonder.
Art Mason, a sophomore from Boston, called working with Dougherty "a pleasure," and said watching the sculpture take shape was one of the best parts.
"I took pictures of just the campus without anything, then took pictures in stages," said Mason, an art history major with a minor in management. "Just to see everything progressing is cool."
