Psych student co-authors research studies
During summer internships supported by Wheaton grants, psychology major Molly Galdston '09 collaborated on two research studies on children with autism. The first of these has already been presented at two international research conferences. (More.)
Giving a year to change the world
Four Wheaton seniors plan to spend the next year helping inner-city schoolchildren and building stronger urban neighborhoods as members of City Year, a national community service program. (Read more.)
Hip hop culture: a bad rap?
Byron Hurt, a filmmaker, writer and anti-sexism activist, will visit Wheaton on February 25 to lead a discussion about hip hop music and its underlying messages on race, gender, violence, sex, and visual media. The event, which will take place at 5 p.m. in the Hindle Auditorium in the Science Center, is free and open to all. (Read more.)
Wheaton Quarterly takes home the silver
The Wheaton Quarterly, the magazine of Wheaton College, has been honored with two silver awards from CASE, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. The magazine won awards in the "best design" and "best overall" categories in the regional competition. (Read more.)

ATHLETICS
Baseball alum goes global
Wheaton's own Chris Denorfia '02 of the Oakland Athletics has earned a spot on the Italian national team's provisional roster for this spring's World Baseball Classic, an international baseball tournament. (Read more.)
