National laurels
Five Wheaton students have won competitive national honors this spring. Click on a student's name to learn more:
- Kelly Maby '09, Watson Fellowship for independent study in Egypt, Australia, Brazil, Ecuador and Guatemala
- Gabe Amo '10, Truman Scholarship for graduate study in education policy
- Scott Clark '09, Fulbright Scholarship to teach in Argentina
- Megan O'Sadnick '09, Fulbright Scholarship to study arctic glaciers
- Chelsey Taylor '09, Fulbright Scholarship to teach in South Korea
Wheaton names new provost
Linda Eisenmann, a scholar of higher education and an experienced academic administrator, has been selected as Provost. Eisenmann comes to Wheaton from the College of Arts and Sciences at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. (Read more.)
Think globally, celebrate locally
On Earth Day, April 22, Wheaton will break ground for an apple orchard, organized and implemented by students. (Read more.) That evening, the campus community will discuss environmental issues with Julia Butterfly Hill, an activist who occupied a redwood tree for two years to save it from destruction. (Read more.)
Spotlight on student artists
The art majors of the senior class will display their work in the Beard and Weil Galleries, April 22 through May 8. (Read more.)
