Wheaton students win awards and honors
A dozen Wheaton students have won awards and national honors this spring, including two seniors who have earned coveted Watson Fellowships for independent study abroad. The students have won recognition for their scholarly work, research and service projects, and achievements in the arts. (More)

Computer science students lend a hand
Computer science professor Mark LeBlanc and four of his students are developing a searchable database of 5,000 historic images at the Norton Historical Society. (More)

Playwright earns MacDowell fellowship
Associate Professor of English and playwright-in-residence Charlotte Meehan has won an Alpert/MacDowell Colony Fellowship. Meehan will spend a month at the artists' colony in Peterborough, N.H., working on her next play, Banishing the Blues. (More)

Filmmaker nabs top honor at festival
The latest feature film by Associate Professor of Art and Film Jake Mahaffy won the Grand Jury Award for best feature film at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin. (More)

Conference celebrates alumni of color
In the two decades since Wheaton began welcoming male students, more than 100 men of color have graduated from the college. To celebrate this milestone, the Alumnae/i Association will host a conference on campus Saturday, April 12. All alumnae/i, students, faculty and staff are invited to participate. (More)

Funding for graduate study
Did you know that Wheaton offers scholarship support to seniors and alums for graduate study in several fields? Most awards range between $500 and $2,000. More information is available online, and the application deadline is April 1, 2008. Questions? Contact Karen Carpenter in Academic Advising. (More)
