Professor Montserrat Pérez presented at The Renaissance Society of America, 2012 a talk entitled "Female Workforce in Early Modern Spain: Alonso de Castillo y Solórzano´s Teresa de Manzanares." She was also the chair of the panel "Writing the empire on the female body."

Professor de Alba will open the Transatlantic Conference at Wake Forest University (NC) with a paper entitled "Virgilio Piñera y Wilfredo Lam: cuando el modernismo se encontró a Cuba." The conference will take place March 2012.
