Ken Babby was named Chief Revenue Officer of Washington Post Media and General Manager of Washington Post Digital in May 2010. In this role, he is responsible for leading digital business operations and all business aspects of digital product development including web, mobile and other digital platforms,
oversight of Post Media revenues, and guiding the Digital Sales team. He also has responsibility for business strategy and development, as well as monetization, of all digital products.
Prior to his promotion in May, Ken was Vice President of Advertising for Washington Post Media with responsibility for the Post’s print and digital revenues. Ken joined The Washington Post in 1999 as a summer intern in IT. After completing internships at the newspaper and at Digital (then WPNI), he joined the Marketing Department as an analyst for National Advertising. Ken transitioned to sales in 2004 as an Account Manager for Technology Advertising. Over the next several years, Ken’s career followed an extraordinary trajectory when he became the Manager of Entertainment Advertising , and later, as Director of the Major Accounts Unit (with $320 million in annual revenues) to his most recent role as VP of Advertising for Washington Post Media.
Ken holds Bachelor’s degrees in both Computer Science and Economics from Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, and an MBA from the Carey School of Business at Johns Hopkins University. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Wheaton College.
