Personal Computer Sales Program
For staff and faculty:
The college offers benefit-eligible employees the opportunity to purchase a computer. You can find more information about the Staff and Faculty personal computer purchasing program here.
Library and Information Service (LIS) recommends certain computer brands and vendors based upon their performance with our network. These vendors are Apple and Dell. You are certainly not restricted to these vendors. You are, however, required to meet the minimum standards for your computer to be compatible with our network.
Technology Support has special arrangements with Apple and Dell for education sales. We would be glad to advise you, however your purchase is made directly with the vendor.
We would like to inform students that you do not need to purchase Microsoft Office (unless you want to own your copy) or Anti-Virus software as Wheaton has a site license that you are able to use, not own, for Microsoft Office and ESET NOD32. Once on campus you will be able to download and install these products free of charge. For more information about purchasing Microsoft products, click here.
* Dell - To purchase the recommended Dell notebook, you may call 1-866-257-4711. You may also use Wheaton's customized page on Dell's site. You may then select from the special offers or receive a 7% discount on Dell's full inventory.
* Apple - To purchase an Apple Computer, you can visit Wheaton's Custom Apple Store by following the link here.
You may ship your computer to yourself at:
Wheaton College, Box W----
26 East Main Street
Norton, MA 02766
Dell has a purchasing plan, You can call 1-888-973-3355 for further details. You may also get this information on the web.
Contact Carol Specht in Technology Support (508-286-5680) for guidance. Questions regarding loans and/or financing must be directed to the vendor.
All students are eligible to take advantage of the educational discount prices offered through our recommended vendors any time during their four years. To place an order you would need to go directly to the vendor, either online with a credit card or over the telephone.
