Media Services Assistant Level III

General description

This position provides front-line support for Media Services, classroom technology and other media-equipped rooms on campus. The Media Services department supports academic events, conferences, and lectures.


• Lending of audio/video equipment to faculty, and students (including but not limited to: video cameras, still cameras, digital audio recorders, mac adaptors)
• Answering and documenting x5600 calls for classroom support, and dispatching Media Services staff to address the problem in the classroom.
• Setting up and retrieving audio/visual equipment throughout the campus for use in the classroom, meetings, and events (video, projection, setting up PowerPoint presentations or microphone/audio systems)
• Picking up films in the library and assisting film showings
• Learn basic FileMaker Pro and Resource25 database skills
• Opening and closing classrooms in early morning and late evening shifts
• Utilizing OnCourse (if unable to make a shift)
• Engraving equipment for inventory
• Train fellow co-workers
