2013 Leadership Award Recipients, Congratulations!

Congratulations to the Wheaton Leadership Award nominees, finalists, and award recipients!  Your hard work and dedication to the Wheaton community does not go unrecognized.  On Friday April 26th, students, faculty, staff, family, and friends gathered in Mary Lyon to honor our campus leaders.

The Eleanor Augusta Norcross Leadership Award is given to a student who has shown significant leadership in the cultural and performing arts at Wheaton, and this year’s recipient was Alison Von Rohr ‘13.

The Eunice Caldwell Leadership Award is awarded to a member of the sophomore class who has shown leadership and initiative through the freshman and sophomore years, and this year’s winner was Kristin Clarke-Cole ’15.

The Caroline Cutler Metcalf Leadership Award is given to a student whose commitment and leadership abilities have strengthened the Wheaton College Athletic Program, and the winner this year was Amy Moreira ’13.

The Emily Susan Hartwell Leadership Award is given to a student who has made a great contribution both in and outside of the Wheaton Community by motivating others to action in the areas of social or global responsibility, and the recipient this year was Pagna Donlevy ’13.

The Ruth Capers McKay Leadership Award is awarded to a junior or senior who has demonstrated commitment and dedication to the college through active campus leadership, and this year’s recipient was Allison Moreau ’13.

The Wheaton Ujima Leadership Award is given to a junior or senior who has been dedicated to issues of multicultural diversity through two or more years of service to the Wheaton Community, and this year’s recipient was Atiya McGhee ’14.

The Patricia King Leadership Award is given to a member of the freshman or sophomore class who has displayed significant progress in developing leadership skills and abilities through active participation in campus activities, and this year’s winner was Sarah Estrela ’15.

The Landmark Leadership Award is awarded to a student who has worked to foster collaboration between genders and has furthered Wheaton’s goal of realizing a new kind of coeducation.  This year’s recipient was Rasheeda Abdul-Musawwir ’13.

The Richard and Virginia Thornburgh Leadership Award is awarded to any student who has made a significant contribution to community service away from the Wheaton College campus and, the winner this year was Kathryn Mason ’14.

The Eliza Baylies Wheaton Leadership Award is given to a junior or senior who is dedicated to adding a new dimension to campus life by founding or revitalizing a program or office at Wheaton, and this year’s winner was Claudia D’Adamo ’13.

The Helene Pruszynski Leadership Award is given to a member of the senior class who has enriched the campus environment through great contributions to student life and commitments to others, and this year’s recipient was Lindsay Powell ’13.

The Dean’s Award is a brand new award given by the Office of the Dean of Students.  This award is given to one or two students who, throughout their Wheaton careers, have demonstrated commitment to enhancing the experience of all Wheaton students.  This year’s recipients were Conor O’Riordan ’13 and Heather Wilson ’13.
