Year Long Courses

Both semesters of a year-long course must be completed in order to receive credit.  Year-long courses are designated with a "C" after the course number in the first semester and a "D" in the second semester.  (Courses reflecting an "A" in the first and a "B" in the second are not considered "year-long" courses for the purpose of this credit/grading policy.) The grade received first semester is a temporary one, i.e.,  credit is not awarded nor is the grade calculated in the GPA.  The grade received at the end of the second semester is the final grade for the course. This grade replaces the temporary grade of the first semester; the total amount of credit for both semesters is awarded, and the GPA is recalculated with the two grades.  The grade received at the end of the second semester is the final grade for the course. This applies to all music performance courses as well. If selecting the Pass/Grade/Fail grading option, the grading mode of the second semester overrides the first.
